Most of Rosine’s work are  narrative art.  They tell a story long Past.  She thinks about a scene or incident from her childhood and paints it.  When she paints scenes that do exist today,  she does not use technology, she paints.

Rosine says: “I cannot cheat or use any  technology to produce my work.  All The compositions are original, I put my paint and brush on the canvas! The art  comes out of my soul.”

This website offers Original, Authentic Caribbean Fine Art and Prints,Books and other Gift-Items by Antiguan-born Artist, Rosine Smith.  She paints in a myriad of styles and media as she tells the stories of Caribbean Peoples at work, at prayer and at play in the 1950s.

Rosine says, “I strive to capture the style, the soul, the architecture, the color, the laughter, and the dialect of the Caribbean I knew in the 1950s. Especially, I struggle to capture the RHYTHM!”
